PRESS RELEASE
Vconferenceonline, a subsidiary of Bits on the Wire, is presenting an online event
on October 21, 22 and 23, 2009 to provide information, tips, tricks, tools and best
practices for IT professionals. Information will be broadcast on Microsoft SQL Server,
Business Intelligence, Microsoft SharePoint and .Net technologies. The event includes
live and videotaped sessions, keynotes, exhibitor booths, interactive features and
integration with Twitter, Skype and other tools, making interaction, collaboration
and learning without the travel and cost associated with a traditional conference
setting.
All of this learning and interaction is accomplished without the need for attendees
to be out of the office or pay for travel, food and lodging. According to a survey
of our previous attendees, this equates to a savings of nearly $4,000 per attendee.
On top of the travel savings, there is also a nearly non-existent carbon footprint..
More information about other online events can be found at www.vconferenceonline.com.
The event is hosted and sessions are delivered in conjunction with SSWUG.ORG, the
SQL Server Worldwide User’s Group. The sessions are presented byindustry experts,
who will be available to answer questions during the broadcast. These sessions are
recorded or delivered live from the Bits on the Wire broadcast studios here in Tucson.
“By streaming these sessions from industry experts and luminaries, we’re able to
provide the same content, same learning and better interaction tools, as an in-person
conference is able to provide,” said Stephen Wynkoop, CEO of Bits on the Wire. “We’re
also able to eliminate the costs of travel for attendees and we can add other benefits
like transcripts, on-demand viewing and direct Q&A with presenters during the sessions.
It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Chris Shaw, Director of the Virtual Conferences, talks about a few of the things
attendees can expect when they attend. “The vConferenceOnline platform is built
around delivering excellent content. By making tools available for review, from the
transcripts to the downloadable slide decks to even being able to download the videos
themselves, we provide our attendees with an experience that’s just not possible
elsewhere,” says Shaw. “By making information available in print with transcripts,
visually utilizing our HD video and digital audio format, you make it possible for
attendees to learn in ways that are best for them.”
“The focus is on learning, networking, tips, tricks and techniques that you can
put to use the minute you’ve finished with a session. More than 91% of our attendees
say they can use what they’ve learned immediately in their jobs. Combine this learning
with the eco-friendly online approach, the complete elimination of travel expenses
for attendees, the interaction and learning tools provided, the expert speakers
and you have a way to vastly increase your knowledge without breaking the bank or
expending significant out-of-office time,” Shaw said.
“We’re amazed by the incredible response from the community and our attendees. While
they may be initially skeptical, it’s great to see that nearly 90% of them recommend
the online conference experience to their peers. We’ll continue to evolve and shape
the Virtual Conference platform – and can’t wait to see the great things people
can do in this environment going forward,” said Wynkoop.
